Dear Washington Area Business/Citizen, On April 3, 2018, City of Washington voters will once again be asked to approve the existing Half Cent Capital Improvement Sales Tax. It is not a new tax but a renewal of a tool that has provided our community with a wide array of benefits for the last 29 years. With these funds, the following projects that have been completed: the new Fire Training Center, recreational parks and pool, City Hall and Library renovation and expansion, the new Public Safety Building, installation of Code Red emergency notification system, construction of the Main Stage facility, and an improved Senior Citizen Center location. Projects for the 2018 renewal have been identified after an extensive review by City departments, community groups, and citizens. Information on projects can be found at www.washmochamber.org/localprogress or requested from the City or Chamber offices. The Washington Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors voted unanimously to endorse the tax and to provide financial assistance to the campaign for passage on April 3. The Chamber invites you to join the effort by adding the name of your company or organization to the list of those endorsing the Half Cent Capital Improvement Sales Tax. The list will be used in the campaign ads and literature. There is no fee or charge to add your name to the list. Simply respond to this email with the name of your company or organization. If we can supply you with brochures or a speaker for an event, please feel free to ask. Thank you, Jennifer Giesike, CFE President Washington Area Chamber of Commerce Comments are closed.
