​The Washington Area Chamber of Commerce proudly coordinates the Young Professionals group, comprised of individuals between the ages of 21 and 40. 

​The goal of the group is to bring young professionals together today, to be the community leaders of tomorrow.
​

​The Chamber also sponsors the Outstanding Young Professionals awards with The Missourian.  More information on the OYP program can be found here.
Tentative 2023 YP Program Schedule

 March 4:  Fake Paddy’s Day Pub Crawl

 May:  Family Fun Event

 August 31: YP Mixer at the Farmers’ Market (will recognize the OYP recipients at this as well)

 September:  Volunteer Service Activity

 November:  Professional Development Session

Members of the Young Professionals group have the opportunity to serve on one of the following planning committees:
​

Plan at least 2 professional development classes annually.
​Ideas:  Informal Leadership, Preparing for Management, Having Difficult Conversations, On-Camera Training

Plan 2 social events annually.
​Ideas:  Happy Hour, Mixer, Field Day, Corn Hole/Kan-Jam tourney, etc.

Share volunteer opportunities to the Facebook Group and YP Calendar.  Organize two specific YP volunteer days annually.

Choose one cause quarterly to donate to, and set up a fundraiser within the group (or beyond, to Chamber Members of the community) specific to that cause.  This committee could also schedule tours or guest speakers from local causes or agencies.

Find and promote health/wellness related events and topics and share to the Facebook Group and YP Calendar.  This committee could also plan a Health/Wellness event.  Ideas: Yoga session, Pickleball, 5k, wellness speaker, etc.

Plan 2 "family" activities annually.  Ideas:  Picnic at the park, evening at the trail, movie night, etc.

Write guest blogs on a variety of topics about Washington on the community website, www.washmo.org. Sign up for specific topics here or choose your own! ​

If you currently belong to another organization, or serve on a committee/board, you could be needed as a liaison! If you are interested, please list the organization(s) you are affiliated with. Liaisons will provide a brief report for a monthly e-newsletter

Encourage businesses with job openings or that post openings on social media to send details to jobs@washmochamber.org..  This committee may also assist with planning a job fair on an as-needed basis.

Organize a Fall Fundraising event, assist with planning/promotion of Fake Paddy’s Day Pub Crawl. These funds offset cost of YP events (separate from philanthropy).

Plan at least 2 business/factory tours annually to help raise awareness, local pride in our manufacturers
