The Washington Area Chamber of Commerce is seeking a full time Tourism Director.

The ideal candidate will have:
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, tourism, business, or a related field preferred; Work experience in lieu of degrees will be considered 
  • Experience in tourism, marketing, economic development, or destination promotion
  • Strong communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills
  • Experience with digital marketing, social media, and branding strategies
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with diverse stakeholders
  • Passion for community development and promoting local assets
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive tourism marketing and promotion strategy
  • Promote Washington as a destination through advertising, digital media, public relations, and partnerships
  • Collaborate with local businesses, attractions, festivals, and hospitality partners
  • Manage tourism-related budgets, contracts, and grant opportunities
  • Coordinate and support tourism-focused events and initiatives
  • Track, analyze, and report tourism metrics and outcomes
  • Serve as a community ambassador for Washington tourism at regional and state levels
  • Work closely with Chamber staff and leadership to align tourism goals with overall economic development efforts
  • Participate in and attend Chamber sponsored events including the Washington Town & Country Fair
